42nd Street

March 16 - 18, 2012

‘42nd Street’ is a toe-tapping extravaganza

The non-stop fun is contagious in one of Broadway most loved musicals, “42nd Street”.

Mounting a Great White Way show in the middle of the Great Depression is no easy task, but producer Julian Marsh is not about to let that happen, even when his leading lady is injured and a young, budding chorus girl has to take her place. But the show must go on.

The award-winning musical features such songs as “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” “You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Young and Healthy,” and, of course, the title song, “42nd Street.”

“42nd Street,’ a toe-tapping extravaganza that is sure to entertain the whole family, won the 1980 Tony Award for Best Musical. It became a long running hit on Broadway.

‘Rock of Ages’ rocks ‘n’ rolls into San Bernardino

Five-time Tony Award nominated musical “Rock of Ages,” the hit Broadway show told through the rock music of the 1980s, blasts its way into the California Theatre on April 5-6, 2012, for two performances.

It’s 1987 on the Sunset Strip, and a small town girl meets a big city rocker in L.A.’s most famous rock club, and they fall on love to some of the great music every recorded.

“Rock of Ages” is “an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting” hits of Journey, Pat Benatar, Styx, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, and many more.

With book by Chris D’Arienzo, the show is known for being more light-hearted and comedic than other Broadway shows, with the actors frequently addressing the audience directly and even reminding the audience they are actors in a musical.

In addition to Tony Award nominations for Best Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Costume Design, and Best Sound Design, it also received two Drama League nominations and two Outer Critics Circle Award nominations.

Parental Advisory:

“ Rock of Ages” is a full-out, blast-off, hold-onto-your-hairspray celebration of the great rock music of the ‘80s, and you might be wondering – or, admit it, hoping – your kids will love it as much as you will. Well, we think they will, but you should know that some of the costumes, dancing and language might not be appropriate for kids under the age of 14.
