with Grant Gershon and James Newton, co-conductors
and featuring Cedric Berry, Darius de Haas, and tap dancer
To close his 10th season, Grant reprises one of our most celebratory events, extracting the best of the three Sacred Concerts by the incomparable Duke Ellington. Grant shares the podium with James Newton to conduct 110 singers, jazz orchestra, soloists, and tap dancer in this extroverted work. The Sacred Concerts marked a personal artistic highpoint of Ellington’s career. This infectious music dazzled audiences before and promises to dazzle again. Amen! |
